WHere is a home-style take on a drink found on our latest cocktail list. Designed as a batch prepared mix which is packed full of tastes of a holiday season, which makes it excellent for hosting a celebration. Reserve the remaining citrus syrup you can use for breakfast cocktails, puddings, or to mix more rounds of this cocktail.
The Bikini Cocktail
Yields 10 people
Ingredients for the Clementine Cordial (produces 750ml)
300ml newly squeezed clementine juice
200ml fresh lemon juice
500g granulated sugar
To make the Premix (produces 850ml, serving 10)
400ml decent vodka
100ml classic gin
150ml peach schnapps
200ml clementine cordial (see above)
Whole cranberries, to garnish
Mandarin essential oil, for finishing
Instructions
For the Cordial: Combine the listed items inside a saucepan, heat until it reaches a light boil, stirring until the sugar dissolves. After that, turn off the stove allowing it to cool entirely. Decant into an sealable bottle, seal and refrigerate it in the fridge, where it will keep for around one month.
Preparing the Batch Mix: Mix the specified liquid ingredients in a sizeable container, allow it to infuse for one hour, then filter it preferably using a fine cloth, making it perfectly clear.
To serve: Add 85ml from the cocktail base to a cocktail shaker containing ice, and agitate gently for a minute to chill. Strain to a frosted cocktail glass or equivalent, decorate with a few cranberries and complete it with a light spray with the mandarin essence over the top.
