Assassin's Creed Reveals Unexpected AoT Event for Thanksgiving
In a bizarre crossover event that breaks usual forecasts, Ubisoft has unveiled an in-game crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected Thanksgiving event operates from November 25 through December 22, including complimentary additional story content for Shadows players.
Peculiar Adventure Revealed
According to the official announcement, "A mysterious confrontation draws heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh quest, where whispers of banned practices and fearsome changes echo through the darkness." The plot features a "strangely attired woman named Ada" who tasks the pair with venturing into the Crystal Cave—a key location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her companion from a secret sect.
The adventure focuses on "peculiar trials and a monstrous foe" and is accessible to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Familiar Settings and Metamorphoses
The trailer features the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This important location was previously where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The trailer ends with a dramatic moment showing a character, likely the captive, morphing into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.
Exclusive Rewards and Bonus Features
Players who finish the mission will obtain an special katana together with several objects secreted throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also features purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, including:
- Titan-inspired attire for Yasuke
- Mikasa attire for Naoe
- Special weapons
- Survey Corps mount
Newest Free Story Update
This update also introduces the game's latest complimentary story addition, titled "The Mystery." This playful adventure teams Naoe and Yasuke as they trade characteristic skills: Naoe debuts a theatrical version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters subduing stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "A Puzzlement" also features a original environmental puzzle that may eventually clarify some lingering questions from the main storyline.

This marks not the first time the Assassin's Creed franchise has crossed over with popular anime franchises. The series previously showcased a 2020 crossover story linking Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga. Furthermore, Valhalla informally featured a quest that unmistakably nodded to the popular series One-Punch Man.
